The pitching matchup between lefties Buehrle and Dallas Braden marked the 21st time in major league history opposing starting pitchers who have thrown a perfect game have faced each other. Buehrle, who pitched a perfect game on July 23, 2009, against the Rays and a no hitter April 18, 2007, against Texas, appeared to have no hit stuff again. He retired the first 10 batters before walking Barton in the fourth. Buehrle quickly made up for it by getting Josh Willingham to ground back to him to start an inning ending double play. Oakland didn't get its first hit until Suzuki led off the sixth with a single. White Sox second baseman Gordon Beckham had a chance to retire Suzuki, but he couldn't come up with a sliding catch in foul territory. Buehrle, who didn't give up his next hit until a two out single to Willingham in the seventh, struck out one and walked one in his third start this season. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, it was the ninth time Buehrle has taken a no hitter into the sixth inning. Buehrle finally got some help in the fifth on Brent Lillibridge's first homer of the season. After retiring the first two batters, Lillibridge tagged Braden's first pitch to the bleachers in left center, putting the White Sox ahead. In his second start, Braden allowed one run on five hits. He struck out seven and walked two. He didn't allow a hit until an infield single by Alex Rios in the fourth inning. Paul Konerko, who was named co AL player of the week, extended his 11 game hitting streak with a single in the sixth inning. Before the game, the A's and Trevor Cahill reached agreement on a new five year contract worth $30.5 million, which takes him through all three of his arbitration eligible seasons and first potential year of free agency. "It feels good. I came up with them and I'm just glad they gave me the opportunity to lock me up and I'm guaranteed to pitch for a while, so I couldn't be happier," Cahill said before the game. The 23 year old is 1 0 with a 1.42 ERA in two starts this season. He was the A's opening day starter after winning 18 games last year with a 2.97 ERA in his second season in the majors. Cahill was a prime reason Oakland led the AL in ERA (3.56) and shutouts (17) in 2010 while holding opponents to a .245 batting average. We spare very little thought to the scrubs, jackets, shoes and caps that medical staff, particularly in hospitals, have to wear every day. Then, along came Grey's Anatomy and suddenly scrubs were haute couture. They were hailed as the ultimate in comfort and leisure wear. Grey's Anatomy did what ER could not: it made surgical uniforms cool. Why this should be so is uncertain. Perhaps the romance, intrigue and downright sexy nature of Grey's Anatomy helped establish scrubs as the epitome of seduction wear. Whereas ER focused more on medical drama, in Grey's Anatomy, medicine forms only a backdrop to the characters' complicated social lives. The sudden popularity of scrubs is evidenced by the availability of a designer range from Katherine Heigl, one of Grey's Anatomy's biggest stars. Called the "Miami Collection", it features empire cut tops in "flamingo" pink and "orange heat", as well as a mock wrap top (with back ties to flatter the figure) in sunrise print. Scrub pants are cargo style with colours to match the empire tops. There are also faux layered tops with long sleeves for chilly days. Pretty designs aren't new to surgical scrubs. The world in general may have only recently been introduced to medical fashion, but medical staff members have been reaping the benefits of designer uniforms for a while now. Mock wrap tops are available from a variety of distributors, as are tops with sash back ties, square neck lines, plunging neck lines and elegant lace detail. There is also a wide choice of fabrics, from golfing frogs and volleyball playing lizards, to vintage hotrods and cats on stage, scrubs are available in about every pattern and colour you can think of. Sizes vary from maternity to petite to plus size, to men's big and tall. Caps have also been funked up considerably, and come in a variety of patterns, colours and styles. There are simple tie back caps, bouffant caps, mega caps and tie back bonnets. Not even shoes have escaped the attention of the functional fashion fundis, who have created Marshmallow Clogs, stealth clogs (from Rockers), Bermuda slip ons (from Anywears) and Air clogs (from Birki). Now that doctors' fashions have come out of the closet, isn't it time you invested in something ineffably cool and comfortable? I must confess to being drawn to flamingo pink cargo pants, and possibly a pair of marshmallow clogs to match, and I don't even watch Grey's Anatomy. Jump on the scrubs bandwagon before ratings drop, and join Katherine Heigl in the height of seasonal fashion. Men Nike Free Run 2 Black White Green,Joel Thanks for the original question. First, some info on big Meyers' current status. He's out in New York (living in Long Island) working out with a group called Pro Hoops. One of their athletic trainers Tim Burns, a sharpshooter on George Mason's Final Four squad had been in Champaign Urbana working him out before that. I'm told the workouts have been dynamic. Meyers is around 248 250 pounds. His time in the 3/4 court sprint was particularly eye opening for a big man. He's working out with a couple foreign players and college guys. As for the draft, the three teams I talk with the most have him projected mid first round. I've been told anywhere from Nos. 12 18. And that could change up or down once he enters pre draft workouts. I don't suspect he will drop. A guy like Meyers that can run and jump for a 7 footer like he can tends to excel in workout settings. What kind of team? A veteran, stable team. A franchise that has older guys that will work with him whether it's on his post game or how to buy a suit or handle a particular interview. All that stuff matters. Meyers Leoanrd just turned 20 in February. The best comparison an NBA GM gave me this one in January is still Javalle McGee. McGee is longer and (possibly) even more athletic but coming out of college he didn't have the skillset that Meyers does. And it wasn't until McGee was traded to a stable franchise with a veteran coach in Denver that he seemed to blossom. I hope Meyers Leonard lands in a similar situation. And I hope that helps, and I'm glad you asked, because I've been wanting to update Meyers Leonard's status. We'll have more in the weeks leading up to the draft. Klee Bob Yes, wrote about Nic Moore last week, so there might be some info in there for you. Illinois was one of the first high majors (he requested a release to BCS schools) to express interest and initiate contact. Illinois needs another point guard and his production as a freshman (20 plus points in his final three games, against Ole Miss, Creighton and Stanford) made him an attractive prospect. John Groce offered Moore a scholarship out of high school, where was runner up to Cody Zeller for Indiana's Mr. Basketball award. Purdue will be a player there if the Boilers determine they need another PG. Hope that helps. Klee Pab Good that you asked. Usually wait until June/July for those early reports and predictions. But we'll preview a couple games in Sunday's News Gazette. Perhaps most important for this Illinois team you added a pair of power conference teams that are beatable. And that was important, because you already had tough games against Missouri, Maui and Gonzaga on the schedule (and a game at Hawaii). And heres the kicker: only seven home games before the Big Ten schedule. So you didnt need to overdo it by adding two bruisers to what you already had. As for your question, I know more about Georgia Tech than Auburn at this point. The Jackets (4 12 ACC last season) are younger I believe there's only one projected senior starter and their strength figures to be in the frontcourt. You return a junior and a senior up front and add a highly regarded freshman in Robert Carter that should get minutes. Brian Gregory's the coach there. You'll remember from the NIT game against Dayton a few years back. Prediction? Auburn (at the UC) and Georgia Tech (at the Hall) Illinois wins both. More on that Sunday. Klee Jack No problem. I used to have this discussion with Jerrance Howard quite a bit. I'm against the age limit rule. If a guy wants to draw a paycheck in his chosen profession, I don't see why he should be prohibited from doing that. Further, schools spend endless resources (academic tutors, etc.) on one and done guys that have no interest in attending class. Jereme Richmond had no interest in attending class. School wasn't his thing at Waukegan or Illinois. But he also had no other practical option, because he couldn't enter the draft out of high school. I know that John Groce prefers baseball's approach where, if you attend college, you are required to stay for three years. Groce told me he's cool with two years, as well. A number of coaches seem to believe the current situation isn't the answer. That's my quick answer. Hope it helps. Klee Jumping ahead to Midnight Madness, what are the chances that the new staff has something up their sleeve to reach out and excite the fanbase. You would think they would want to embrace the opportunity. I realize previous years have been a less than appeasing "event" but with enough creativity and planning, it could be something unique and special. Offering up an "Illini experience" where fans can tour through the practice facility, locker rooms, walk on the court, etc. and then attend a practice that would include fan interaction would appeal to families and boost attendance. Free merchandise is also never overrated. Just a thought. Out That hasn't been discussed. These guys are still trying to get their bearings any sort of Midnight Madness ordeal is down the list of priorities. Two of the assistants are just now finding homes to live in. This staff perhaps even more than most job changing staffs has faced a whirlwind over the past couple months. You had the MAC tournament, the NCAA tournament first weekend, NCAA tournament second weekend, the Illinois job, the reopened April recruiting period, player workouts with their new team. John Groce is in Peoria today with the Coaches Caravan. Coaches will have stops at a children's hospital and two middle schools before signing autographs for fans and attending a reception. So he's been fairly busy. As for Midnight Madness, I don't expect there's a plan in place at this point. Not to disregard your thoughts I appreciate the originality with the tour but Midnight Madness events are far more important to fans than players and recruits. Midnight Madness attendance at Huff was dreadful. The outdoor practice while a novel idea crashed and burned after the football loss to Minnesota. Probably the most effective and not simply for basketball reasons was the Pink Out at the Assembly Hall. I think the poor attendance is directly a product of the struggles on the court, so I wouldn't suspect it would be better after a 15 loss season. So we'll see what they come up with. There might be more interest in that event with a new coaching staff in place. And John Groce has enough energy to entertain a building by himself. Klee Anonymous The powers that make those pairings attempt to project where teams will finish next season. They want even matchups. For example, Carolina will be good, Indiana will be good, so they matched up Carolina and Indiana. State Michigan and Duke Ohio State. Boston College and Penn State are projected near the bottom half of their respective standings, so they were matched up. The Wisconsin Virginia game might be an exception, and the committee simply wanted to see if one of them would score in the teens and two fanbases would fall asleep at the same time. In Illinois' case, the Illini had a bad season, Georgia Tech had a bad season, neither projects in the top half of their conference for next season, so they're paired together. When Illinois was in the upper echelon of the Big Ten, you got Carolina and Duke. Maryland has been a common opponent. As much as I enjoy Mark Turgeon and he'll get it rolling at Maryland I was glad to see a new opponent for Illinois. State in 2013 14. That probably would mean Illinois won a bunch of games in 2012 13. Klee Ted Yes, that looks right for now. This staff prefers four big men three that play quality minutes and one that plays a bit role. "The way we want to play fast ideally we'll have four bigs that can play," assistant and big man coach Dustin Ford says. "To just play three, that would be hard." And you could see Mike Shaw in that rotation at times. Myke Henry would move between the 3 4 and he has no preference. "Whatever gets me on the court," he told me. And these things are far from set in stone. The coaches have only had 5 6 weeks with the players. Long way to go. As for practices, they likely will be closed to media. Hope that helps. Klee First time chatter. Thanks for doing these chats, I really do enjoy them. My question is in regards to the Georgia Tech game. I know it's been said that Illinois was wanting a home game this coming year in the challenge but do they get any say on who they would like to play? Also I know it's early but how do you think Illinois matches up with the Yellow Jackets? If this has been addressed elsewhere I apologize. Finally, I know basketball is a little different than football but my fiance was wondering if the new staff has any say on cosmetic changes with the team. For example new uniforms, new court color scheme or design, etc. Empire Teams can't pick their opponent, so to speak. They can suggest a home/road game to help balance their schedule (or their schedule the following season). I know that Bruce Weber's staff was pleased when they drew Carolina and Maryland the past two seasons. And yes, he may have suggested a game with Carolina/Duke in that particular season, but I don't know if that's why you got one. This staff did not want to play an upper tier ACC team this coming season. They felt the schedule in place was challenge enough coming off a 17 15 season. As for your other question, haven't asked about any potential uniform changes. Most often those come from the manufacturer (in this case Nike) and sometimes players have a (small) say. Can't help you out there, but if I learn anything in relation to new uniforms, I'll pass it along. I do know that Meyers Leonard now owns more Chuck Taylors than one man could possibly wear. All in Size 17. Those are his kicks of choice. Klee JLE John Groce will land someone from the state of Indiana before too long. He's had great success in Indiana, from Stanley Burrell to Justin Cage to the Ohio State guys (Oden, Conley, etc.). Two possibilities that come to mind: Demetrius Jackson (2013) and Jalen Coleman (2015). Jackson has been recruited heavily by Notre Dame and Michigan State but hasn't committed, and Illinois is in better shape with him now than, say, a month ago. But we'll see. And there are others. Part of the issue perhaps the biggest part of the issue is that many of the better players from Indiana are committed or have strong ties to IU. The Hoosiers have momentum. But that certainly is a state where Illinois will spend time but I don't expect it will spend too much time. One thing I appreciate about this staff is that it seems to have a good idea who it can't get. So you won't waste time where you don't need to. Hope that helps thank you for the question. Klee

I just brought my most comfortable pair of heels (3" Joan and Davids) to the appointment so we could get an idea of how much the dress needed to be hemmed, and after even just a half hour of standing there, my feet were totally numb. I do better when walking around, but still, the idea of being in heels for so long is daunting! Does anyone have suggestions for super comfortable heels, or specific things I should look for in a shoe that can make them more comfortable? The shoes will be mostly hidden by my dress so I really not too picky about style or color, although I was thinking that blue would be cute. I have fairly narrow feet that are about a 6.5 7, so it shouldn be too difficult to find options in my size, either. I haven ever tried gel inserts do those actually work? Thank you all for any suggestions or advice you may have. TL;DR: Bride needs to get her act together and buy shoes, but is scared that comfortable heels do not exist. Help please?I struggle with high heels too. Your best bed is to shop around for shoes that fit you REALLY well. Some things to look for include: Thicker heels. Stilettos or any shoes with a very thin heel are going to her your feet much faster than something with a fat heel Lots of support. You want a shoe that is going to hold your foot in place really well and prevent sliding. Anything well fitting with an extra strap to hold your foot in place is going to help you out
