Air Jordan 12 Low Retro Taxi 2011 Where Can i Buy Oreo 5s Have The Lowest Price Online on a recent muggy evening and the 18 year old has spent the past two hours playing alongside five female friends in a spirited, chippy even, game of basketball against a team of local boys. While most of the local boys in this gritty Mumbai neighbourhood have played basketball for much of their lives, Afreen first picked up a ball in 2009, only a few weeks after the National Basketball Association paid to renovate and repair the court, which is encircled by aging British Raj era apartments and tin roofed hovels. As sweat drips from her forehead, Afreen turns to a friend standing nearby. Will you come?" she wheezes. Local coaches say Afreen has developed into a good athlete with a smooth jump shot, a skill for sensing open lanes to the basket, and an unrivalled desire to be the best player in any game. She has a chance this year, some say, to make it to Maharashtra's state team. If that happens, Afreen may be in line for a life altering payoff. Playing for her state would increase her chances of winning a coveted and rare position on a club team. While India doesn't have a pro basketball league, it does have a semi professional circuit of club teams. Various government agencies railroads, the army, police and income tax departments offer full time jobs to talented players, who typically receive salaries of more than 20,000 rupees ($430 Canadian) a month, lodgings, and a lifetime job, even following their retirement from basketball. But Afreen's story of success is about more than sports and money. It's also illustrative of how families in orthodox neighbourhoods can challenge social mores. Nagpada is a community of Muslim families. Seven mosques are within a stone's throw of the outdoor basketball court and on the dusty, noisy streets here, where chickens and goats run free, most locals still say girls like Afreen should not be playing basketball. In the world's biggest democracy, there are no laws preventing women from playing sports, but as with customs about marriage dowries, which remain prevalent even though they've been illegal for a half century, traditions here have a grip on the local community that are as strong as any legislation. "These girls should be staying in their homes," says Imam Saeed Gulam Sarwar, the spiritual leader at a mosque across the street from the court. "Everyone here knows that girls who are 18 should not be playing sports. They should be home observing purdah," the Islamic custom of secluding women from men. Sarwar, whose beard is dyed with henna a fiery red, says he's included Afreen and her teammates in his sermons. He's also confronted Afreen's father, demanding she and her 16 year old sister Sumaiya stop playing. The paint on the green and rose coloured court is faded and rats scurry along the drain troughs that run along the edge of the playing surface. Three years ago, after the NBA visited Mumbai and replaced the pre existing potholed court, installed new backboards, and handed out a case of new basketballs, Afreen cornered her father in their one room home here. "I really wanted to play," she pleaded. If she was expecting a confrontation, she didn't get one. Sheikh Karim, her father, nodded his approval. He and his wife Mumtaz have lived a life typical for most lower class Mumbai residents. The daughter of a local real estate broker, Mumtaz was 7 when she stopped attending school. By the time she was 16, she was married to Karim, a local taxi driver. "I was lucky," she says over a lunch of rice biryani in her family's home. "He's a good man." With a ruddy face, kind eyes and a good command of English, Karim doesn't see much of his family. He works six days a week driving the chaotic streets of this city of 16 million. and finishes his shift at midnight. He pays 350 rupees to rent his taxi, and another 200 for fuel. In a shift, he's lucky to make 900 rupees, making his take home pay about 350 rupees, or $7.50, a day. But Karim says he's tried to instill in his four children the belief that just because they're poor doesn't mean they can't be happy. So why not let them play sports? "I am not less of a Muslim because my girls play basketball," Karim says, tightening a royal blue sarong around his waist. "Life is tough here and what is there for kids to do? Why can't they play? Afreen's a good girl, and smart." The family still reminisces about the time six years ago when Afreen returned home to find her older sister Rehana, then 14, lying passed out on the concrete floor. She had failed a test at school and taken poison. Afreen lifted her older sister over her shoulder and carried her to the closest hospital, saving her life. "When she first started going onto the court, the imam came to me and said this was wrong," Karim says. "I didn't want to argue or disagree with him so I said, 'Okay, we'll see. I'll consider it.' " Early on, the girls struggled on the court. "There were a lot of air balls, they were not very good," says Taha Khan, a 16 year old who has played for Maharashtra state's boys team. "But you can see now they are playing more confidently. And parents are becoming more open to it as well. Even those who said girls could play said they had to be home by 7. Now, they are letting them stay later." Steadily, their skills improved and by last summer, the girls from Nagpada advanced to the state semifinals. Now, the girls have become a mainstay on the court and a curiosity for spectators. As the girls practised one evening this week they wore track pants to cover their legs, and short sleeve shirts some residents watched from their nearby balconies..

Modern CombinationsFor a pop of color in a modern setting, throw eggplant into the mix. A modern design or color scheme makes bold statements with sleek simplicity. Combine a rich eggplant with bright white, shiny silver or inky black for a dramatic effect. In the HGTV online article "5 Grown Up Purple Interiors," designer DD Allen comments, "White kitchens, while beautiful, can sometimes look sterile. But purple is a nice backdrop for the white and silver of today's appliances." If you desire to wear eggplant for a modern, chic ensemble, pair your eggplant colored shirt with a bright white skirt or a soft gray pair of slacks. Finish off your outfit with shiny black shoes or a patent leather handbag. Eggplant and Shades of Brown"Purple and brown always look good together," says designer Benjamin Noriega Ortiz in "5 Grown Up Purple Interiors." He explains that the combination is "always rich and welcoming." Eggplant makes a dramatic statement, and when paired with warm brown, the effect remains classic and interesting. For a bedroom color scheme, paint rich eggplant on all four walls, or simply the main wall behind the bed, and place dark wood furniture against the wall for a stylish yet cozy retreat. Pair an eggplant colored dress with brown suede boots and brown accessories for an effortlessly charming outfit suitable for any season of the year. Jewel TonesNot surprisingly, the color eggplant mingles easily with other jewel tones. A popular color scheme for weddings, Classy Sassy Weddings' website displays jewel toned bouquets and table settings that expertly marry dramatic eggplant with emerald greens, ruby reds and cheerful blues. According to the HGTV online article, "Neutral Colored Living Room Enriched With Bold Jewel Tones," designer Wendy Gallagher utilized the same jewel tones when she woke up a neutral living room. She painted the walls mustard yellow, added eggplant colored detail around dark wood door frames, and threw down an eggplant toned area rug to add contrast to cream and dark wood furniture. A little holiday shopping led to this observation: There too much Nike (NYSE:NKE) at Nordstrom (NYSE:JWN) (hey I don spend all my time at Walmart). While Julie tried on shoes it occurred to me that Nike is proving that it is possible to over emphasize the new. They are competing as a fashion brand, and letting that agenda cloud their core message. C what do frilly purple boots and UGG knock offs have to do with Do It Fashion is Nike differentiator in a field of athletic wear, but function has always come first. The function is the promise. Once upon a time a waffle iron inspired a brilliant innovation: a better tread for better performance. A brand was born. It was a beacon. But when fashion eclipses function, the message just gets foggy, and a recession will punish foggy brands. Do they have the DNA to become a fashion house? Can they build it or buy it? If not, they should throw out the fuzzy boots and get back to making moves that fit the focus of the brand (like this idea). Oreo 5s,Breast Reconstruction options after mastectomyUser Rating: / 0 PoorBest MiscellaneousWritten by Eric John Thursday, 29 March 2012 06:27 Breast reconstruction is generally performed after mastectomy to help give the patient natural looking breasts. It is because of this that though breast reconstruction is a cosmetic surgery, it is considered a right and is covered by your insurance. /p>It is based on the type of deformity that takes place after breast cancer surgery that the right type of breast reconstruction surgery is performed. In case of women who had a small portion of their breast removed, without any radiation therapy, then a breast implant is a great solution. In such cases, either a breast lift is performed on the opposite breast, or if the deformity is large, then the surgeon may reconstruct the breast using the patient's tissue. There are various options for tissues to use for breast reconstruction that includes the back or tummy tissue. The tummy tissue is generally opted for in women who need a tummy tuck done, who will then use the excess skin and fat removed for breast reconstruction. If the entire breast was removed, the surgeon will opt either to use breast implants or to use the patient's own tissue as mentioned above. As there are so many options for breast reconstruction after breast cancer surgery, your plastic surgeon will spend lots of time explaining the options you have till you choose the technique you are most comfortable with. If you choose to have breast implants, they are inserted through the scars of your previous surgery. If the opposite breast also needs an implant to maintain symmetry, the surgeon will perform a breast lift on it with a short scar technique. It is possible to consume regular food after the breast reconstruction surgery. In fact, there is not much pain the next day; even if there is any pain or discomfort, the prescription medicine the plastic surgeon prescribes helps provide relief. It is better to take rest, and if you have to walk around, it should be done with assistance. While you have to visit your cosmetic surgeon at the office the next day, you have to take all your prophylactic antibiotics and other medications as necessary. While stitches are removed within 5 7 days' of the cosmetic surgery, the swelling keeps on reducing week by week. At the end of 6 8 weeks' time, most of the swelling dissipates while it takes about 6 months for your breasts to mature from the surgery and for the final results to get evident. Factory Outlet Store Oreo 5s,Air Jordan 12 Retro Obsidian White French Blue University Blue If you want to help clean up this big ball of dirt we call home, you better be ready to get messy. From the backyard to the bedroom (you're welcome), here are 10 easy ways to dig in and get your green on.Got a green thumb? Then it's time to start greening your eco footprint. You don't need a green thumb to make a difference to the planet, though: Swapping just one plant based meal for a lunchtime burger saves 2.5 pounds of carbon dioxide emissions, 133 gallons of water, and 24 square feet of land, according to the PB Campaign. When planning your garden (or your day's meals) make sure your veggies hit the full spectrum of colors. "It's built in insurance that you are going to get all of your essential vitamins and nutrients," Loux says.2. Wrap It UpAbout 10.4 billion condoms wind up in landfills every year. Most are made of biodegradable latex, but added stabilizers, preservatives, and hardening agents slow down the process big time. Meanwhile, polyurethane condoms don't break down at all. Natural latex condoms, however, have fewer chemicals and can more easily be broken down, and they're just as effective. GLYDE ethical and vegan condoms pack natural ingredients, are never tested on animals, and are endorsed by the Vegan Society, PETA's Caring Consumer program, and Ethiquette.3. Get Your Poop Together (Your Pet's, That Is)It might be a part of nature, but pet poop isn't good for the earth. The stinky stuff is full of bacteria and contaminants, which can run into streams, lakes, and oceans or be tracked right into your home. So next time you're on a walk with Fido, scoop that poop! But don't put it in a plastic bag (which would take more than 100 years to biodegrade). Loux recommends BioBag's compostable Dog Waste bags.4. Bounce Around on Your Stinky SneaksYour old, worn out athletic kicks can last decades in a landfill. Luckily, Nike's Reuse a Shoe program turns old, worn out athletic shoes of any brand into courts, playgrounds, and tracks, helping you save space in your closet and in landfills. Since 1990, the program has repurposed more than 25,249,000 shoes.5. Get KinkyToss the batteries, opt for natural lotions, and start recycling. Recycling? Yep. Glass and aluminum bedroom toys for adults can go right in your recycling bin. That's got to tickle your and the recycling guy's fancy. Plus, every toy you send in earns you a $5 voucher to the company's recycled sex toy line.6. Bury Your WasteGet your mind out of the litter box and just get composting, already. Composting boosts soil's nutrient content while decreasing and, in some cases, completely eliminating its preservatives, pesticides, and contaminates. Composting will also help that vegetable garden (see "Dig Up Your Food," above) grow like it's straight out of Little Shop of Horrors. Are you a composting virgin? Fill your compost with food scraps and a mixture of fresh and dry leaves and grass. Loux recommends using a NatureMill Automatic Compost Bin. Just plug it in and let it mix, heat, and aerate the compost. Don't worry; it's super energy efficient.7. Department of Energy. Not too environmentally friendly, especially when you take into account all of the chemicals that rinse down the drain with that water. So skip a shower. If you're getting really stinky, opt for a bath. It only uses about nine gallons of water and is pretty darn relaxing, too.8. Get a Bigger HamperThe average American family washes nearly 400 loads of laundry each year, with the average washing machine using about 41 gallons of water per load. Wait until you have enough laundry to actually fill the washer, Loux says. And don't put anything in the hamper unless it's really dirty. Case in point: Big, fluffy, water sucking bath towels. You're clean when you dry yourself off after bath time, so you really don't need to wash your towel every day. Who will know the difference? Luckily, only the earth.9. Be Shady"Trees are our best friends when it comes to sequestering carbon dioxide from the air," Loux says. The average tree can remove about a ton of carbon dioxide emissions throughout its lifetime. Plus, trees can reduce house temperatures in the summer, while allowing the sun to warm the house in the winter. Don't have a yard to call your own? The Nature Conservancy is always in need of tree planting volunteers.10. Skip to the LooMore than a quarter of your indoor water goes to one and one thing only: your toilet. So spend some time checking out its age and condition. While older toilets use between 3.5 and 7 gallons of water per flush, WaterSense labeled toilets use 75 to 80 percent less water, according to the Environmental Protection Agency. Plus, a leaky toilet can waste about 200 gallons of water every day, the EPA reports. If you really want to be good to the environment, save a flush by adopting your dad's old saying: "if it's yellow, let it mellow." Oreo 5s My favorite part of almost every decade is talking about the shoes because they're really beautiful and the '50s really started to get glamorous with shoes. So, in the '40s you had had rationing on leather because of the war and in the '50s the evening shoe became really popular and heels were the standard. We've seen in some movies big saddle shoes but really we're talking about women's fashion and not girls' fashion. And so, towards the beginning you might have seen a shoe like this, in the beginning of the '50s. It's an open toe pump and it has a thicker heel, and this is reminiscent of the heels that were popular in '30s and '40s which were chunkier and lower. But you can see it's already starting to get higher. This is about a 3 and a 1/2 inch heel. It also has some detailing on it of the shimmer, which is reminiscent of the make up that we talked about. You wouldn't wear a shimmer necessarily in a day dress but you could wear it in a shoe. And also, these are in a fairly neutral color. So these would be a really great accent to an outfit. Now towards the later part of the '50s, we get into stiletto heels, which are still really popular today. These are not necessarily a fabric that would have been used then but the style is completely '50s. The heel is actually a four inch heel, it's a little bit thinner than the other one, it's an open toed sandal and it's a very small, streamlined shoe. And this is exactly the kind of shoe that one would wear in the '50s. It maybe wouldn't be as shiny, but it would definitely be a nice summer evening shoe. Stiletto heels really came into their own in the '50s and wearing interesting fabrics, and incredibly popular.
