Eva Birthistle picked up the award for Best Actress in a Leading Role Television for her portrayal of Sarah Bailey in the TV series 'Amber'. Birthistle graduated from the Gaiety School of Acting in 1995 and has since gone on to become a renowned television and movie actress best known for 'The Children' (2008), 'Breakfast on Pluto' (2005) and 'Ae Fond Kiss' (2004), which won her the London Critics Circle Film Award as "British Actress of the Year" in 2005. Other IFTA nominees included Jane McGrath (class of 2009) for Actress in a Leading Role Film, Caoilfhionn Dunne (class of 2007) for Actress in a Supporting Role Television, Charlie Murphy (class of 2008) and Deirdre O'Kane (class of 1986) both for Actress in a Leading Role Television, and Colin Farrell for Actor in a Supporting Role. The Gaiety launched their new website, with the help of graduate Charlie Murphy (Love/Hate), last year and features a host of information about courses and also has a dedicated alumni section to keep up to date with successful graduates. The site also incorporates an 'Interview of the Month' section, which most recently featured Rex Ryan, a 2013 graduate who is currently starring as Derry in 'Cornerstones' showing at Smock Alley. Former student Genevieve Hulme Beaman (2010) recently won this year's Stewart Parker Award for her play 'Pondling', which she both wrote and started in. Former winners of the prestigious Stewart Parker New Playwright Bursary include internationally renowned playwrights such as Enda Walsh, Conor Mc Pherson and Sebastian Barry. Hulme Beaman lately starred alongside fellow GSA graduate, Lorna Quinn (class of 2007) in 'Pride and Prejudice' at the Gate Theatre. Courses at the Gaiety school range from one year part time courses to week long summer schools, which take place in Gormanston and at the Gaiety School in Temple Bar. A one day workshop entitled 'Screenwriting Hothouse' is also being made available to beginners and seasoned actors. The intensive workshop will focus on key areas of character story and dialogue writing. This year the Gaiety is running a career preparation course from July 8 24. The three week course will run twice a week from 7 10pm and is geared towards more established actors. Casting director Louise Kiely will be teaching certain sections of the course. Pace Borza Butterly, Marketing Manager at the Gaiety School said: "The career preparation course allows people who are serious about acting to learn about the business and to hone in on their specific craft." The school also caters for individual requests with their one to one coaching, which has become very popular in recent years. The pay per class can focus on any discipline including acting, voice, singing, movement, audition techniques, accent, film and TV, stage combat and public speaking etc. 'Try for free' classes are also on hand to give students the chance to sample courses before signing up. Air Jordan 10 Bulls Over Broadway,I heartily second the vote for Love Logic! We use it on our 16, 8, and 4 year olds. Our youngest, then 3, was fighting getting dressed each morning. I told him "I dress kids that act nicely." (enforceable statements is one of the best basics in Love Logic). He still wouldn't let me dress him, so I said No problem. I put his clothes and shoes in a bag and put him in the car. He then decided he wanted to get dressed. He had to wait until we got to preschool and got dressed in the bathroom there. I've only had to mention one other time that I only dress kids that act nicely. My 8 year old used to just dawdle in the mornings. We live about 1/2 mile from school, so it's not a long walk. One morning, she was taking her time. I set her shoes, backpack, and jacket on the front porch. I told her "Out the door, I need to lock it. Enjoy your walk to school." Then I left. I only had to do it once. The biggest key is Don't Nag. Tell them once "We're leaving in 5 minutes." Then the consequence can be age appropriate. If it's too far to walk, an 8 year old can put her shoes on at school on the sidewalk. Every morning was so stressful! I created a chart on my computer. I put a picture for every task that she needed to complete in the morning. I had pictures of clothing for getting dressed, a pic of food, toothbrush, shoes, etc. I laminated the chart and put it on the fridge. I printed out little smiley faces and put velcro strips on the smiley's and the chart. With every task she completes in the morning, she gets to put a smiley next to the corresponding picture. If she gets all her smiley's, she gets marbles in her marble jar. We started with two jars of marbles one full, one empty. As she earns her marble from getting smiley's, the empty jar fills up. The idea is to give children choices and explain what you are going to do instead of telling the children what to do. For example telling the children "The car is leaving in 15 minutes, you can leave with your clothes on your body or with your clothes in a bag. You decide." The important thing is to follow through and plan ahead. You know this is an ongoing issue with your children. Call the preschool ahead of time and tell them that your children may come to school with their pajamas still on. Currently we have a penny game. Whenever they do something cooperatively the first time we ask (like "Let's get on our coats now" or "Come to the sink to brush your teeth") they get a penny in their cups. When we ask them twice they don't get anything, but they know they lost an opportunity. (We say "Oops, I had to tell you twice!) When we have to tell them a 3rd time, they lose a penny. (We are trying to do this without threats just by letting them learn from consequences. And we try to keep it upbeat and fun.) It has really helped them cooperate and has cut down on yelling/threatening and made the atmosphere here more positive! When they get 25 pennies we'll match it and do it again until they have at least a dollar to buy something at the store. This is working well for my 4 year old, but I have to adjust it for my 2 year old. (I'm guessing your 3 year old could get these "games" and your 2 year old might follow along with a little more coaxing.) In the past we've made up sticker games too. (Stickers on calendars) If I implement different games every once in awhile, then overall they seem better at doing what we ask and cooperating. We've also rotated different car toys as someone else suggested. Hope something helps! It's a hard age for that, that's for sure! The best advice I ever got was using the 5 3 1 Go idea. You give them a 5 minute, 3 minute and 1 minute warning, and then they are ready to do what you want get coats on, leave the park. It can take a bit to train them this way. The first time you might have to just pick them up and go, but they get it very quickly. I have 5 year old autistic twins and an 8 year old daughter and this still works for her, too. No one can just "turn on a dime", not even adults do that well. Warnings about what is coming up work very well. I agree with the psychologist about not threatening to leave. My family did that to me and it still scares me to this day, and I'm 37. Keep it simple: I place on the living room table for my 3 year old a pile of her clothes (the ones i intend for her to wear). I tell her she has 'this much time to get dressed' (showing her the space of air between my thumb and forefinger, about 4 inches). I also remind her that if she is not ready when the time runs out, i will have to get her dressed and ready to go myself. After about three minutes, if she has not started, I remind her that she now has 'this much time' (showing her a smaller bit of air between my finger and thumb). She resisted the first week, and many days i had to hold her still to get her pants and shirt on, with her feet kicking me as i tried to get socks and boots on, but eventually i could see that she was doing it herself, albeit in her own time frame too. I have learned to see things with more paitience, through her eyes in terms of time. Now I plan for plenty of time before I have to go and the routine is a no tears event. And she feels great because she did it all by herself!I find what works best with my daughter (who is currently 3.5 years but I discovered this when she had just turned 3) is to talk about how incredibly fun and awesome the place that we are going to is going to be. She absolutely loves daycare so that's an easy sell. Welcome To Our Online Air Jordan 10 Bulls Over Broadway,Air Jordan 5 Oreo GOALS win games! That timeworn clich was honoured to the letter at the Connacht Centre of Excellence, on Saturday last when Evan Regan produced two of stunning quality against . The first in particular was a sublime effort on 24 minutes as the Ballina man left several defenders gasping for breath in carrying the ball from one side of the field to the other before unleashing a rasping drive to the net. Awe stricken Mayo followers in the good sized attendance gave Regan a well deserved round of applause for the effort. Prior to that, Mayo had struggled to put scores on the board even though they enjoyed quite a lot of the possession. They tended to over elaborate at times out the field, when a more direct route was required, particularly with Regan showing signs of scoring whenever he gained possession. lost three of their central players to injury early on their goalkeeper, centre forward and full forward. Luke Kelly, their centre forward, looked a player of real quality prior to pulling up with a hamstring injury. Mayo showing many changes in personnel from their previous outing against Cavan showed determination and spirit all through the hour. scored a point from Eoghan Carroll early and it took Mayo some time before Michael O'Malley opened their account. Anthony Jordan and Evan Regan (free) added points before Regan unleashed his thunderbolt. He added a point from a free before the break which saw Mayo ahead by 1 4 to 0 1. After 's Gareth Mann and Evan Regan (free) exchanged points, the visitors scored a fine goal of their own from substitute Adam Shelly seven minutes into the half. They continued to enjoy a lot of the game but they didn't possess anyone of Regan's ability to embellish their good outfield work. They reduced the deficit to three points midway through the half after Ryan Delaney pointed in reply to an Anthony Jordan effort. But Mayo raised the level of their performance as the game progressed and looked far more potent than an side that never looked a real threat from there to the finish. The likes of Aidan Butler, Joe Geraghty, Steven Conroy, Cian Burke, Anthony Jordan, Evan Regan and substitute James Shaughnessy played very well with a promise of more of the same to come going forward. Mayo rattled off points from Anthony Jordan (a sublime free from an acute angle) and Steven Conroy (two from play, the second after an assist from James Shaughnessy). were rather unlucky not to have scored a goal when a shot from Gareth Mann hit the crossbar and was cleared to safety. Mayo's Pdraig O'Hora, who had replaced Brian Murphy, picked up a black card at this stage Mayo finished with another Evan Regan goal of rare quality when he swivelled and found the net after James Shaughnessy picked him out with a pinpoint pass. It ended a perfect day for the Ballina man, who finished with a personal tally of 2 3. More importantly, it meant that Mayo had finished the group with two wins out of three, which is a good return considering they have been missing so many frontline players throughout the campaign. Some players have taken the opportunity to showcase their skills and no doubt management will have noted their input. You totally de stress with all the fun and excitement. Who doesn't love the beauty of the Las Vegas Strip at night? So many lights and so many people. If you go on a budget that's okay because Las Vegas does have cheap places where you can eat, reasonably priced shows, and free tourist attractions. My first trip I stayed at the Paris Hotel and it was gorgeous! My second trip I stayed at Harrah's not so gorgeous but central to everything. Either hotel your right in the centre of the Las Vegas Strip so it is very easy to get around. I saw Celine Dion at the Colliseum and Donny and Marie Osmond at the Flamingo! I have to say that Donny and Marie always take my breath away I just love them so much. Have Lot's of Fun in Las Vegas I love Donny and Marie Osmond and I love Las Vegas! The Wedding Chapel no way!One of the great shows at the Las Vegas Strip is the Donny and Marie Osmond Show. They have a pretty regular gig at the Flamingo. I love all of their songs! I mean how can you not love my favourites like: A Beautiful Life, Vegas Love, I Know This Much is True, I Swear, and so many other of their great hits. I remember later on when Donny and Marie were playing in Toronto, Ontario Canada at the Fairmount Hotel and Marie got a throat infection and Donny did the whole show on his own! What a trooper. I also have seen Celine Dion in concert in Las Vegas and she is awesome. But, for some reason my true love is Donny and Marie. I think it's how great they are as a brother and sister act. They interact with the audience. Twice I have had my hand touched by Donny. And, Marie is just so darn beautiful! If I ever go back to the fun and the sun of Las Vegas you can just bet your bottom dollar I will see Donny and Marie at the Flamingo! The only thing I wouldn't do in Las Vegas is get married tacky or maybe not! And, remember what happens in Las Vegas stays in Vegas! You can save tons of money this way. And, before your trip see if there are any Las Vegas coupons or special deals on line! I know if someone goes on a gambling junket they can get breaks on their hotel but I am not really much of a gambler. Truly, I do love the slot machines but I stick to a daily budget. I rather walk around and check out the gaming tables and watch other people lose their money. Heck, the slots are fun! There is plenty of free entertainment when you walk around on the Las Vegas Strip. At night it is all so pretty! So between the modern Las Vegas Strip and Old Vegas there is just so much to keep you busy. Make sure you have a comfortable pair of shoes you will be doing a lot of walking! Las Vegas also has a very modern subway system to help you get around as well. The clubs in Las Vegas are very pricey so avoid unless your a party animal and you have lots of money. I rather do Las Vegas on the cheap. I have gone to free karioke in Harrah's hotel and the piano bar is free too. All the sight seeing is free unless you book something like the Grand Canyon tour now that is pricey. Like I said I love Las Vegas and for me the cheaper the better! One week in the winter and it's Viva Las Vegas! Las Vegas on a Budget!Whenever I go to Las Vegas I always try and check out what I can do for free. I do pay for shows like Donnie and Marie Osmond and Celine Dion but I also look for bargains or things that cost absolutely nothing.
