Before you Donate Land
If you plan to donate land for a camp or nature preserve, don't assume your land will be preserved. Donated lands, if unprotected, can and have been sold to raise funds. Before you donate your land protect it with a conservation easement.

Always consult with a qualified tax attorney.

Run a Successful Camp
It's about marketing, PR, fundraising and nature.
Steve Garrett, a founder of the Guided Discoveries outdoor education group, testified at the Owasippe Scout Reservation trial in Blue Lake Township that there is plenty of demand for new camps.

He said he believes Camp Owasippe, America's oldest Boy Scout Camp, could be turned around and operated as a successful camp.
